I ordered a load of books since we decided to spend Masters Week at the farm. It’s been a crazy month-I have emptied the Smith/Peterson/Capers house (with lots of help), cared for my aging mother, hosted a kitchen tour at my home, sold mother’s house, and prepared the rest of my house for Masters week rental. My treat is the box of books I did not allow myself to open until I finished the high level cleaning required for Masters guests. (The high level cleaning deserves a blog post!)
I ordered these books for my April reading based on recommendations by Jen Sincero. I love her book YOU are a BADASS How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life.
The Dynamic Catholic was a suggestion from my friend Kelly. We are following the video series for Lent which is excellent. Plug for my friends without whom I could not survive the above craziness! Their daily texts, lunches and check ins carry me.
Honestly life is already awesome, but during the real life crunch as above I felt stuck and not so awesome. If you need a swift kick Google “Jen Sincero” and watch one of her videos. I am waiting patiently for her podcasts. Even better than her book are the videos on You Tube. She reminds me of my mother, who under the sugary old lady exterior, is quite the tough badass. I suspect that is where my essential press- on -no -matter- what drive comes from!
See. Don’t let the pink fool you!
Every now and then we all need a swift kick to restart the pilot light. There are wealth consciousness, creativity and spiritual jump starts here too.
Here is what I am consuming this week~ Other than the Pinot!
1-YOU are a BADASS by Jen Sincero
2-The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp
3-Resisting Happiness by Matthew Kelly
(Following his Lenten Journey on Dynamic Catholic)
4-Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales
5-Gardening for Gourmets by Ruth Matson
6-A Child’s Garden by Mollie Dannenmaier
7-The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles (don’t laugh! Jen Sincero recommended this one!)
That seems like a lot for someone who doesn’t read much, but I am in the woods disconnecting a bit.
Some of the books are daily pick ups, a chapter at a time.
I am speaking at the Sacred Heart Garden Featival later this month so preparing my talk for that too. Head to the website for the schedule of speakers, events and Grand Hall shopping hours!
Have a fabulous Masters weekend!
PS. I am blogging from my phone so no links to books!!
